Dayle Rodenborn Licensed Clinical Social Worker

The therapist for people who don’t like therapy…

Friends and family who know me best were a little surprised at my choice in career path… I don’t think I fit the mold for what most people would expect of a typical therapist….if there even is such a thing…

I’ve never been described as particularly “touchy-feely” and I am at my best when I can assist others in more direct problem-solving approaches. My biggest goal in therapy is to get you out of my office and back into your life!

With that said, I have found that most people, at some point in their life, could benefit from some professional listening and feedback. Our friends and family are great sources of support, but are often too closely involved to provide the kind of unbiased perspective that we need to help us out of a rut or to enact the true change that we really desire.

My experience and approach…

During the course of my career and education, I have worked in a variety of settings and with individuals from just about every walk of life. My experience includes individual work with adults and adolescents as well as group facilitation and couples counseling. I have a strong background in providing services to people struggling with severe mental illness, personality disorders, developmental disabilities, substance use  issues, eating disorders and general difficulties with life transitions. I am experienced in working with individuals as well as with families who may be looking for ways to support their loved one.

My therapy style is eclectic, allowing flexibility in finding an approach that will work most effectively with each individual and allowing us to partner together in treatment.

I am comfortable and skilled in using elements from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectic behavioral therapy), Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy modalities. Our work together may involve “homework assignments” and other tools to assist you in building the necessary skills for successfully navigating your own path to change and emotional wellness.
